I was asked to present on a business topic that was important to me for our team’s annual Summit. I chose to present on Recruiting because over the life of my network marketing career others had attempted to recruit me with a sleazy approach and I didn’t want to be THAT person that did the same thing to others. So I projected my experience onto how I approach people. I wasn’t sleazy, but in the early days of my career I allowed myself to believe that recruiting was hard for various reasons (not knowing “exactly” what to say, having to have perfect conversations, having to know it all, only looking for people that needed money, etc.).
Not anymore. You don’t have to be perfect, you don’t have to know everything, you don’t have to already be successful and you don’t have to have a perfect script. Done is better than perfect. Recruiting isn’t hard for the team members that work with me…they recruit like good humans. I believe that essential oils are life changing and I believe that doing doTERRA as a business is life changing. Thus, I have a moral and ethical obligation to recruit well and teach others to do the same.
I developed a training program that allows our team to learn how to launch their business and to invite others to learn about the oils or how to earn income in a genuine and authentic way without a hard sell. How would you feel if you were approached that way? Oh my gosh….I would have loved being approached that way and that’s why this topic was so important to share with others. Helping my team achieve wins early in their business is so important.
Together we creating a recruiting culture that is authentic and that everyone wants to be part of. Want to know how to recruit better? Follow the steps in my previous blog post.
