5 Ways to Use Coconut Oil for Natural Beauty
Coconut oil is one of the top natural products you can use for your health, as well as your skin and even your hair. When it comes to beauty, you will find that coconut oil is recommended far more than any other product. Here are five different ways to use coconut oil for natural beauty.
1. Remove Your Makeup. The first option you have is to use the coconut oil as a makeup remover. In each of these options, make sure you are using organic, virgin, unrefined coconut oil. This is the natural form of coconut oil that will work best for you. Coconut oil can be purchased in a big jar that lasts a lot longer and works better than traditional makeup removers. You can apply it to a cotton pad and remove makeup, or put it directly on your skin with your fingers. Rinse away the excess, but don’t worry about leaving it on your skin. It is a great moisturizer.
2. Deep Condition Your Hair. Coconut oil is also an amazing way to get soft, silky hair. It can be used completely on its own as a hair mask. All you need to do is melt the coconut oil by putting the jar under hot water, grab some in your hands and apply it to your hair.
You can put it in damp hair and let it sit just while you shower, then rinse it off, or leave it in for longer by wrapping your hair in a towel. This is completely up to you. For deep conditioning, leave it in for an hour or longer before rinsing. Consider adding a drop or two of Lavender or Rosemary essential oil for deeper conditioning and refreshing.
3. Improve Your Oral Health. If you haven’t tried coconut oil pulling, now is a great time to start. This will clean between your teeth, whiten your teeth, and freshen your breath. You need about a tablespoon of melted coconut oil to do this. Just put the coconut oil in your mouth and pull it between your teeth, swishing it around your mouth.
Try to do this for 5-10 minutes about once or twice a day, depending on how long you can do it. You can start with just a couple minutes at first until you become accustomed to it.
4. Get Softer Skin. Coconut oil is also used to moisturize your skin. You can use it as a body lotion or apply it to your skin before your regular skin lotion. Just be careful not to use too much. If you have cuticles that are cracked, go ahead and apply it there and you will notice that your nails look better and manicures last longer.
5. Apple as Under-Eye Cream. Finally, try adding some melted coconut oil to the skin underneath your eyes. It is very soft in this area, so you should only use the gentlest of products. This will help reduce puffiness, help with dark circles, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Natural Skin Care: Ways to Use Aloe
Aloe vera is a wonderful herb with a long list of health benefits. It is not only the perfect herb to help soothe a sunburn or other sores on your skin, but it can be used for other natural skin care purposes as well. Try out some of these natural skin care methods using aloe.
1. Moisturize Your Skin. The gel from aloe vera plants is an amazingly simple way to add more moisture to your skin. It is completely healthy and herbal, so you aren’t adding chemicals or fragrances to your skin, which is often where other moisturizers go wrong.
It also won’t cause more oil to your skin or clog your pores, but still gives you that soft and smooth skin you are hoping to get. Consider using aloe as a moisturizer every day, as well as if you have just shaved your face or gotten waxed, as it won’t irritate the area and will actually soothe it more.
2. Treat Your Acne Naturally. Aloe is often recommended as a natural approach to acne treatments because it provides exceptional healing abilities. Many people use aloe vera gel to help with sunburns, cuts, and scrapes, and it is this same healing concept that helps with your acne.
It will reduce inflammations and redness, treat itchy pimples, and allow new cells to grow in your skin to prevent further acne problems. It is safe to use on any form of acne and can also help with other chronic skin conditions like rosacea and cystic acne, so you don’t have to worry about any adverse side effects.
3. Reduce Signs of Aging. Aloe also happens to be one of the top natural remedies for anti-aging purposes. Regardless of your current age, you might be showing subtle signs of aging with fine lines and wrinkles, or a loss of elasticity in your skin.
Aloe helps to tighten up your skin and will provide you with loads of nutrients and antioxidants to further help with a more youthful appearance. Aloe contains vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta carotene, all of which are important for anti-aging and hydrating the skin.
4. Heal Wounds. Sometimes when you have infections or skin conditions, they can lead to wounds of various types on your skin. You can use aloe as a natural way to close up these skin wounds and help smooth out your appearance while reducing the scarring at the same time.
Start a New Natural Beauty Routine
Summer is the perfect time for a new natural beauty routine. This should include using natural ingredients, paying more attention to how you care for your skin and hair, and sticking to the routine on a daily basis. Here are some ideas for starting a brand new natural beauty routine for the summer season and the rest of the year.
1. Exfoliate Your Entire Body. Instead of just exfoliating your face, why not scrub your entire body? This is great to do as a new natural beauty routine, especially during the summer. It will leave all your skin feeling and looking refreshed, as well as being nice and soft.
To start with, you can use a body scrub of natural ingredients. Combine any type of sugar or salt with oil like olive oil or coconut oil, and add some essential oils. This is the easiest way to have a body exfoliator. You can also start using a dry brush and buff the skin with it. Dry brushing has tons of health benefits. Add your favorite doTERRA essential oil to the scrub and the dry brush for more cleansing benefits.
2.
Rinse Your Hair With Apple Cider Vinegar. For your hair care routine, now is the perfect time to try some new natural products. One great product to use on your hair is apple cider vinegar. This just provides a simple risk that will clean your hair and help to remove buildup or dandruff from your scalp. It can also add some shine to your hair. Dilute the vinegar with the same amount of water, then add it to your hair, rinsing well in the shower. If you want a better scent, your favorite
doTERRA essential oils.
3. Make a Yogurt and Oatmeal Mask. To start a new beauty routine, you don’t want to forget about your face. This is a good time to use a mask about once a week. You can make your own with just oatmeal and plain yogurt, providing all you need to moisturize your skin. The oatmeal is also going to exfoliate it in a gentle way. Mix these ingredients together and rub the mask on your face, letting it sit for about 10 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water.

What You Need for a Healthy Scalp
If you haven’t been too happy with the health of your scalp lately, you’re not alone. Many people are struggling with dry scalp, oily hair, dandruff, itching, and even redness. Luckily, hope is not lost! Here are some ways you can improve the health of your scalp.
1. Take Care of Scalp Conditions. While people often notice skin conditions on their face and body, the scalp often gets neglected. However, if you have unusual symptoms like flaking, itching, redness, or bumps on your scalp, you may need to have it looked at.
For example, if you have a lot of itching, burning, and red bumps on your scalp, you might have a condition called seborrheic dermatitis. This is very easily treated with an anti-fungal. My favorite way to address this is adding a few drops of
doTERRA Tea Tree to your favorite shampoo. Itching can also be caused by eczema, which has other topical treatments.
2. Know How Often to Wash Your Hair. Not everyone needs to wash their hair every day or even every other day, so it helps to understand more about your hair texture and how often shampooing should take place. If you have dry hair, you can probably get by with washing your hair less often, as the oils from your scalp are needed for proper moisture. But if you have oily hair, you probably need to wash your hair more often.
Try washing your hair a little less often and see how your scalp reacts to it.
3. Use High-Quality Hair Products. The higher quality your hair products, the better off your hair and scalp are going to be. This doesn’t mean you have to buy expensive $100 shampoo and conditioner at your hair salon, but try to find hair products with ingredients you recognize. Avoid additives like sulfates and parabens, as these are not necessary for healthy hair or a healthy scalp.
Experiment with different products until you find ones that work great both for your hair texture and your scalp health.
Take care of your hair naturally with products you trust. The doTERRA Hair Care line is free of sulfates, silicones, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, and parabens. Instead, it’s full of natural ingredients, chosen to help nourish, nurture, and truly care for your hair. And, of course, it also includes amazing CTPG® essential oils like Peppermint, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, and Spearmint.
4. Do Regular Scalp Massages. An added step you can do on a weekly basis for your scalp health is to give yourself scalp massages. Scalp massages don’t just relax you and feel like pampering, but it can actually help to improve the circulation of your scalp. It helps with any buildup on your scalp if you do the massage with a clarifying shampoo, and is a great way to practice a little extra self-care when you are in the shower.
Use doTERRA Essential Oils in Your Skincare Routine
The skin is the biggest organ of the body, and the main part of the integumentary system. This body system provides a protective barrier to the outside world, cushions the internal organs, gives you your sense of touch, and regulates body temperature.
The skin serves as a waterproof barrier that prevents all types of unwanted threats from entering your body. The skin also protects tissues and organs from strong sunlight and injury from substances in the environment. The skin contains blood vessels, hair follicles, lymph vessels, and sweat glands.
Many factors contribute to the health of the skin including a balanced diet, regular exercise, hormonal balance, and overall health. In general, when the body is healthy internally, this shows externally by having glowing skin.
doTERRA essential oils can be beneficial in cleansing and beautifying the skin, to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promote a clear complexion and reduce breakouts.
Did you know they even help keep skin clean while recovering from distress?
