GET UNCOMFORTABLE STEPPING INTO YOUR GROWTH

I recently had a mentor session with a team member and we talked about three tips to help her push through some thoughts that weren't serving her and her business. As I thought about our conversation afterwards, I couldn't help but think this could be a conversation for anyone going through anything in their personal life or career.  Read on and tell me what you think.

#1 Mindset. Mindset is everything. "Whether you think you can or think you can't you're right." ~ Henry Ford   Humans like comfort (especially the brain). Change and challenges are uncomfortable. I say embrace it. Getting uncomfortable is stepping into your growth.  It can be quite liberating and empowering to  face the fear of discomfort of getting uncomfortable. You take back YOUR power.

#2 Structure is necessary in your business (in her case) and life. You need strategy, goals, a plan and treat the business like a business (not a hobby...hobbies cost money). And not like it needs to be managed. So maybe if you have some fitness or athletic goals, you can still apply the same kind of thinking. Maybe you are a successful, overworked parent and need to figure out a way out of the rat race so that you have more time to enjoy life. But there is too much pain associated with losing that income.  (I hear ya. I work with many women that initially have those thoughts.) You can still apply the same kind of thinking. Whatever your goal is in life, if it is important enough to you, you'll find a way and start strategizing.

#3 Commitment. Commitent is KEY. Too many people just give up because they think it's too hard, they don't have time, or they are not confident enough, etc.. You need to commit and show up for yourself and your family and stick to your goals. Look at challenges as opportunities to grow. Simply DECIDE that you will commit and SHOW UP for you and your goals. Make a promise to yourself and KEEP it! Sounds easy right? Well, actually it is that easy! When you have a mentor that knows your goals, you've shared your challenges with them and can honestly tell them you will push through them, they know how to support you to achieve  the success you desire.
