Enjoy the buzz

Do you love coffee? Does coffee love you?

I like coffee, but it doesn't love me back.  It creates a hormonal imbalance if a drink it regularly. However, I do notice a good difference with cold brew coffee (it's not as highly caffeinated and is less acidic) and organic coffee. I've been trying a new coffee lately with superfood mushrooms, Mushroom Coffee Mix by Four Sigmatic. The mushrooms help your body metabolize the coffee better. (it's okay, but I like the idea of adding superfoods to my coffee so I'll use up my box of it.)

This is a recipe that I like to make because some of the extra benefits from the added ingredients. This recipe makes two 10-ounce portions.

2 cups freshly brewed coffee
1/2 cup full-fat coconut milk or grassfed cream
2 heaping teaspoons raw cacao
2 tablespoons grass-fed ghee

Add all of the ingredients to the blender and blend, starting on low and gradually increasing to high, for a total off about 30 seconds. Serve hot and frothy from the blender. I like some sweetness in my coffee so I add some cinnamon powder or cinnamon oil and pure maple syrup or monk fruit sweetener. The ghee in this recipe helps to boost brain function and boost energy.
