A New Way of Looking At Your Health

Have you ever felt like you just couldn't get a grasp on all of your health issues?  

Maybe you even normalized the hormonal rollercoaster you were on? 

Normalized the nagging weight you just couldn't take off? I use to think that was normal. I was "at that age".😉
You tried "all the things" thinking they were a one-size-fits-all, yet you didn't get the results?

I understand. That was me too! 

I'm going to suggest looking at your health in a brand new way....a new perspective.

How you may be looking at your health now:
  • You have symptoms or health complaints.
  • Ask yourself (or your doctor) what's wrong with me?
  • Either you chalk it up to everyone experiences this--it's normal.
  • The next step is to either diagnose it with a malfunction or disease.
Now you are in "relief care" stage.  Symptoms don't go away. You just manage them and/or experience side effects.

The body still is not functioning optimally. 

If we know that the body innately knows how to function normally why do we accept not feeling well as "status quo"? It's not your fault, it's what you have been led to believe. Look at all the drug commercials for example!

Let's put on a new lens on and see your health much differently:
  • You have symptoms or health complaints.
  • Ask yourself what could be causing this?
  • Is there someone that can help me figure out my imbalances to identify healing opportunities that restore normal function (remember the body always wants to go back to "normal" function)? Notice that I'm not suggesting how to put a bandaid on and treat.
Now you have identified potential causes and you know exactly what to give your body. 

Weeks, months and years go by and you feel amazing. And you know exactly why.

Then one day you aren't feeling great. Because you are use to your body functioning optimally, you are keenly aware of something and know exactly what to do. 
I wished I would have known this because I could have avoided some of these pitfalls.

In 2012  when I was 49 years old and not feeling my best I started to adopt health-building behaviors, essential oils, a holistic lifestyle and supplements into my daily life because..... let’s face it, as you get older you begin to worry more about your health. 

While some areas of my health improved (yay!), there were still lingering symptoms that I couldn’t get rid of.  Have you ever had this experience? The best I could achieve was relief care which, in itself was super helpful, but the symptoms would re-appear or would be manageable.

My family doctor ran blood tests that showed “everything was normal”--"nothing was wrong" he said. Let's give you a prescription. No thank you. Sorry, I don’t buy that there is nothing wrong. 

If I’m eating healthy, working out and I’m health-focused, why don’t I feel well?

I even tried different diets like Keto, Weight Watchers, Trim Healthy Mama, Paleo, raw foods, etc), but they were restrictive and didn’t work. I even tried weight loss mindset programs—great if mindset/perception of food is the issue—which it was not for me.

Last year I learned about FDN and I swear it’s saving and extending my life. My friends that know me well might think I’m exaggerating because they likely see a healthy person on the outside. (Isn’t it funny how we perceive someone to be healthy —thin, skinny, eats healthy, exercises, etc.—everything on the outside?)

During my training through FDN, I learned how to discover and eliminate a person’s individual hidden stressors and dysfunction through exclusive functional lab tests. Now I interpret the lab results and create healing opportunities so you know “exactly” how to course-correct through my coaching programs. 

Last year I ran the labs on myself and found my hidden stressors and dysfunction. It turns out I discovered my “exact” body systems that were out of balance. To be honest, I was VERY shocked.) But now I knew exactly where to begin my healing to restore my health.

When I began to experience positive shifts in my health (including unexpected ones), I knew that I was on the right track and every single week I feel so much great energy.

What I wanted help with was: 
  1. To sleep through the night and not wake up tired. Now I sleep through the night and wake up with amazing energy.  I get up before my alarm clock goes off.
  2. Fatigue after my workouts. I now recover from my workouts and don’t have fatigue afterwards or through the day or sore muscles that lasts all week.
  3. Eliminating the chronic acne and skin rashes. Now it’s all gone and skin healing is improved.
  4. Lose weight in my mid-section without dieting and keep it off for life. Now I work out because I want to, not because I have to. 

I discovered:
  • Foods that my body was reactive to (even the healthy ones I was consuming) and whole big list of foods that my body prefers to create normal metabolic function.
  • All of my hormones were low. 
  • I got a peak into my metabolic health.
  • I got a nice big picture of my digestive health.
  • How to listen to my body.

The unexpected improvements were:
  1. Improved eyesight
  2. Joint pain gone (What’s interesting is last fall/winter my podiatrist sent me for an X-ray, MRI and circulation test and still couldn’t figure out why I was having pain in my foot for 5 months straight (I wasn't running either). He did say likely Reynauds). Miraculously after I began my healing process, all the pain went away. Things that make you go hmmmmm
  3. Clearer thinking.
  4. Understanding and knowing which foods give me energy so that I always have a healthy metabolism.

To say I’m excited about the future of my health is an understatement. I’ve taken back control—I had control all along but now I have clarity and knowledge. I have peace of mind for life because I don’t have to worry about my health as I get older.
